Dille, WV – Lorene E. Griffith Given, 90 of Dille, was called home on Tuesday, October 28, from the Clay Health Care Center, Big Otter. She was born in Widen, WV, the daughter of Theodore and Leona A. Krantz Griffith and was a lifelong resident of Dille. She was a member of the Big Union Baptist Church of Dille, and also cherished her many years of devotion to the Walnut Grove United Methodist Church. She retired from the Carroll Shoe Plant in Summersville. She was also involved in providing child care for several families in the community.
Lorene was preceded in death by her husband Ermine Given, brothers Ronald, Kenneth, Ray, and Ted and sisters, Glady Groves and Marie Donohue and nephew, David Griffith, Surviving to cherish her memory are nephews, TG (Joyce) Griffith of Dille, Mark (Vicki) Griffith of Belle, step-children Phyllis Sciarrone, Evelvn Flerning, Paul Given, and Jimmy Given. Numerous nieces and nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Clay Health Care Center for the care Lorene received while in residence there. Services were held Sunday, November 2, at 2:00 at the Walnut Grove United Methodist Church with Jimmy Adkins and Danny Richardson officiating.
Visitation was held at the church one hour prior to the services. Burial followed in the Walnut Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Walnut Grove United Methodist Church (3745 Wilson Ridge Road, Duck, WV 25063) or the Big Union Baptist Church (PO Box 98, Dille, WV 26617).
