Gandeeville– Lena B. Hersman, 84, of Gandeeville, WV, passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at home.
She was born September 22, 1931, in Clay County, a daughter of the late John Albert and Goldie L. Shamblin Bishop. She was a homemaker and a farmer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dencle “Bub” Hersman; her children, Kathryn, Jeneta, Harvey, and Earlus Hersman; and her puppy, Fluffy.
She is survived by her children, Brenda Funk (Harry Sutton) of Newton, WV, Carolyn (Kenny) Larch of Spencer, WV, Bonnie (Gary) Cook of Left Hand, WV, and Dencle “Sonny” Hersman of Birch River, WV; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Service was at 12 p.m. on Sunday, September 18, 2016, at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer, with Rev. Jackie Roberts officiating. Burial followed in the Hebron Cemetery near Spencer. Visiting was one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
