Ivydale, WV– Judith “Judy” Ann (Eaton) Dennison, 69, of Ivydale, WV, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 17, 2016. She was born on January 18, 1947, in Mansfield, OH, a daughter of the late Orville Eaton and Clara (Filik) Eaton.
Judy departed from this world surrounded by her loving family. Left behind, but blessed for having been a part of her life, are her husband and soul mate of 50 years, Wayford Van Dennison and their son, two daughters and spouses, Timothy S. and Kandy Dennison of Ivydale, Laurie and Don Wood of Haw River, NC; and Virginia and Emmerson Rene’ of Lee’s Summit, MO; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth Cottrell and husband Corey, Caitlin Dennison, Stephanie Smarr, John Smarr and wife Amanda, Heather Smarr, Christian Wood, Noah Wood; and five great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her mother-in-law Virginia Dennison of Flatwoods, WV; brother Ronald P. Eaton of Mansfield, OH; sisters Sandra K. Thomas of Findlay, OH, and Brenda J. Rice and husband Marty of Mansfield, OH. Along with all those surviving she was blessed with several nieces including our miracle Sarah Anne Zellner; niece and hospice nurse Robin Edwards; nephews; and cousins.
Judy was a graduate of St. Peters High School in Mansfield, OH, a graduate of Mansfield General School of Nursing, LPN, also a graduate of North Central Technical College, RN, Emory University School of Medicine, ARNP, and University of St. Frances, BSN. Judy worked for public health departments in both West Virginia and Florida. She was a diversified health occupation teacher at Braxton County High School from 1983-1987. She also was an advanced registered nurse practitioner.
Judy loved her family and friends, and was a wonderful hostess and cook. She enjoyed walks on the beach, traveling, and photography. She was a wife, mother, sister, friend, teacher, mentor, and speaker. Judy touched many lives through her kindness and strong faith. She was a friend to all and never met a stranger who didn’t soon become a friend.
Family received friends on Sunday, November 20, 2016, at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home Flatwoods, at 1 p.m.. with funeral services at 3 p.m. at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Anthony Moss officiating. Interment followed in the Braxton County Memorial Cemetery in Sutton, WV.
