Newton, NC – Jessica Nichole Woods, 30, of Newton, N.C., formerly of Birch River, passed away October 17, 2013, after a brief illness, at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory, N.C. She was born November 27, 1982, at Summersville, and was the daughter of Barbara Nicholas Woods of Newton, N.C., and Alvie Woods of Clay.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Othel and Pete Nicholas and Bailey Frame, all of Birch River.
Surviving, in addition to her parents, are two sons, Kade and Jerry; aunts and uncles, Debbie and Paul Ball of Conover, N.C., Wanda and Lundy Tyree of Chapmanville and Daniel and Celia Nicholas of El Paso, Texas; grandparents, Ledford Woods and Carol of Clay; and many more brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral service was conducted Thursday, October 24, at 2 p.m. at Waters Funeral Chapel, Summersville, with the Rev. Roger McCauley officiating. Burial followed in Birch River Cemetery.
