Charleston – Jerry Clifford “J.C.” Sams, 57, of Charleston, passed away in his home unexpectedly on Sept. 2.
He was born Aug. 20, 1959, to the late Marshall and Magdoline Sams. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 21 years, love of his life, Debra Sams; his sister Rosemary Mollohan; brothers William Marshall and Buddy Leroy Sams; stepson Dana Norfolk; niece Christie Watson; and first wife and good friend Betty Dennis.
He is survived by sister Garnet Johnson; daughters Marsha Lesher and Mandy Sams; stepdaughter Jenny Norfolk-Miller; stepson Nathan Norfolk; nephews Brian and Shawn Mollohan and Chris and Phillip Johnson; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and special granddaughter Josie Norfolk, who was always there to help take care of him.
J.C. was a high school graduate of Clay County High class of 1977. When he was younger,he worked for WV Steel, he then retired from Central Parking
A memorial service for family and friends was held on Sept 8, 2016, at 2 p.m. at the Diamond Baptist Church located at 207 Ferry St., Belle, WV 25015.
