Jerald Cecil “Jerry” Kraut Bowers, 65, beloved father, grandfather, uncle, son and brother, of Dille passed away Friday, October 13, 2017 as a result of a motorcycle accident.
He was born in Gassaway, WV on May 14, 1952 the son of the late Chelsie James and Hettie Bell Browning Bowers. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Sandy Dodrill Bowers, and his brothers, James Lee and Pete Bowers.
Jerry was a professional truck driver. He was a Baptist by faith.
He is survived by his companion, Monica Johnson, daughter, Shannon Blake and husband Jeremy of Burnsville, sons Jeremy Bowers of Shinnston, and Joshua Stout serving in the armed forces in Okinawa. Brothers Ben Bowers and wife Lois of Luray, VA, Jack Bowers and Sharon Brady of Nettie, sisters, Jo Hamric and husband Dave of Dille, Mitzi Frame and husband Mike of Duck, and his granddaughter, Jeri Anne Bowers.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017 at 2 p.m. in Greene-Robertson Funeral Home Chapel in Sutton, with Rev. Kenneth Adkins officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest making a donation to a charity of their choice, or make an act of kindness in memory of Kraut.
