James Holcomb, 85, of Xenia, died Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Hospice of Dayton.
He was born December 15, 1936, in Bickmore, WV the son of Ezekiel Rice and Ruby (Stephenson) Holcomb. He retired from the US Air Force as a Master Sergeant after 22 years while serving a tour in Vietnam and then retired from DESC. James was a member of VFW Post 2402, American Legion and DAV. He attended church at Xenia Grace Chapel.
James is survived by his daughter, Christine (Roy) Rauch; son, Ronald (Dawn) Holcomb; grandchildren, Harli Taylor and Jaidyn Wolfe; sister, Sharon Gray of Indore, WV; special family members, Jerry (Joyce) Worstell and family, Homer Crabtree; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary; sister, Betty Taylor; brothers, Mark and Robert Holcomb.
The family received friends from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by funeral service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 29, at McColaugh Funeral Home. Interment followed at Valley View Memorial Gardens.
