Ivydale, WV – Jackey D. Drake, 81, of Ivydale, passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 after a long illness at CAMC Memorial Hospital.
Born May 28, 1933, he was the son of the late Otha and Maysel (May) Drake. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Marshall and Raymond and two sisters, Paulene and Ruth.
He served in the Army as a medic from 1955 to 1957.
Jackey retired from Babcox & Wilcox in Barberton, OH, he moved to Ivydale to enjoy his retirement years. He was known as the gravely tractor man for his knowledge.
He leaves behind brothers, Ford (Darlene) Drake of Clay, Charles (Mary) King of Chloe, sisters Cleo (George) Adelman of Rootstown, OH, Imogene (Ed) Blacklock of N.M., Crickette (Don) Traxler of Richwood, Oh, Ex-wife, Mildred and step children, Beverly, Chuck and grandchildren all of OH.
Funeral service was held 1:00 P.M. Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Wilson-Shamblin-Smith Funeral Home, Clay. Burial was in Cowen Cemetery.
