Homer Osborne, 90, of Bickmore, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, entered into rest Thursday, November 16, 2017.
Born June 18, 1927, he was the son of the late Randolph Bib and Marilda (Neal) Osborne. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers, Forest, Clem, and John D. Osborne; sisters, Ruth Woofter and Ann Osborne.
Homer was a WWII Navy Veteran, co-founder of Clay Camper Co., Member of UMWA, Trustee and member of Lick Fork Baptist Church, CEO & Cast Member of Solomon’s Secret Outdoor Drama. He worked in Mining 28 years, 20 years as a House Contractor.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Ressa Schoonover Osborne; sister, Mary Osborne Jones; son, James Brock Osborne; daughters, Frankie Jo (Len) Alvis, Vickie Dail (John) Brown, Billie Shane (Wayne) Cooper; seven grandchildren, Shannon Brown, Shalon (Brian) Moore, Jonathan (Renee) Brown, Tiffany (Aaron) Boggess, Alisha (Adam) Taylor, Trinity Cooper and Kevin (Leslie) Alvis; eight great-grandchildren, Corey Mays, Nathaniel and Keaton Brown, Kinsley and Lauren Boggess, Wyatt , Shelby Moore, and Lucas Alvis; one great-great-grandchild, Kayson Mays.
The family would like to Thank Hospice, Kindred Care, Family, Friends and the VFW.
Services were held Monday, November 20, 2017 at Wilson Shamblin Smith Funeral Home, Clay, with Ministers Johnny Randolph Osborne, Rocky Osborne and Jonathan T. Brown officiating. Burial followed in Schoonover Cemetery, Beechy Ridge, with Military rights.
