Wallback, WV – Herbert Estel West, 83, of Wallback, passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at home after a long illness.
Born April 18, 1931 in Wallback, he was the second child of the late Everett H and Barbara (Jarvis) West. Herbert was also preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Alice Fitzwater West, brothers, Oscar and Dencil West, sisters, Hazel West Runnion Davis and Alma Fox and grandson SFC Jamie S. Nicholas.
Herbert is survived by his son, Aubrey (Connie) West of Wallback, daughter, Karen (Burke) Nicholas of Wallback; grandchildren, Cody (Juanita) Nicholas of Clay, Karen (Tim) Finney of Nitro, Renea West of Wallback, Jesse (Stacy) Nicholas of Herrington, Kansas, Amanda (Michael) Kendall of Spencer, Haley (Sean) Nichols of Oak Hill, Adam (Lindsay) Nicholas of Columbia, S.C., Tyler West of Wallback and Cathy Nicholas of Wallback; 17 great-grandchildren, brothers, Jesse West of Bristolville, OH., Everett H. West Jr. of Marshallsville, OH., sisters, Merel Hays of Aurora, OH.
Funeral service was held 1:00 P.M. Sunday, November 16, 2014 at Wilson-Shamblin-Smith Funeral Home, Clay. Burial was in the West Family Cemetery, Wallback
Friend called one hour prior to the service.
