Mother was a great mother and grandmother. She loved flowers, roses being her favorite, and working in her garden. She was a wonderful cook and if she was expecting company she always had a meal prepared. If you ever left her house hungry it was your fault.
Mother worked for the Clay County Board of Education as a teachers aid and cooks helper. She and daddy later had a small grocery store on Triplett Ridge.
Mother was in Putnam Care and Rehab for over 7 years, where she had great nurses and CNAs. Some staff became like family to us. Special thanks to Angela Arthur for being such an amazing nurse, who came to sit with me on her day off. I am forever grateful for her and her friendship, thank you Angela. Special thanks to nurse Daniel E, Raylena L, Margaret M, and Carolyn S, CNAs Alyce B, Sandy K, Cheryl L, Cheryl A, Brittany and Breanna C, and so many others who were such a great blessing to mother and me. I apologize if I failed to mention any names, there have been so many. To Michelle W, for the many phone calls and help provided over the years.
Graveside services were held Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 1 PM at Bailes Cemetery, Dog Run.
