Filbert D. Neal
Ivydale, WV – Filbert D. Neal, 92, of Ivydale, passed away on May 4, 2015 at home. He was born June 3, 1922 in Widen, WV, a son of the late Oscar W. and Gertrude Cantrell Neal.
He was a construction worker, coal miner, and WWII veteran.
He is survived by seven sons, Filbert G. Neal of Ivydale, Gary M. Neal of Ivydale, Ed Neal of Duck, Bob Neal of Ivydale, Jimmy Neal of Ivydale, Johnny Neal of Ivydale, Danny Neal of Pike Co. OH; twelve grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mammie L. Sears.
Service was held at 1:00pm, Thursday, May 7th at the Richard M. Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway, with the Rev. Gene Copen officiating. Burial with military rites was in the Stockwell Cemetery, Ivydale. Visitation was from 10am to 1pm Thursday, May 7th at the funeral home.
