Emory J. Carte, 91, of Gauley Bridge, entered into rest Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at the Hubbard House in Charleston.

Born June 13, 1926, in Hico, he was the son of the late Jacob and Esty (Champ) Carte.  In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters.

Emory is survived by daughter, Angela and her husband Mark Deling; and their 2 children, Athea and Kipp of Grand Rapids Michigan; and his wife, companion and caregiver, of 12 years Anna Linton of Gauley Bridge;    He is also survived by extended family of five children, and a host of grandchildren.

He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Especially by his constant companion his little dog Cindel.

A funeral service was held Saturday, November 18, 2017, at Scrabble Creek House of Prayer Church, Scrabble Creek, Gauley Bridge, with Pastor Mike Lanham officiating.  Burial followed at Montgomery Memorial Park, London.
