David L. Brannon, 87, of Clay passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston, WV.

He was born on March 2, 1936, in Ivydale, WV to the late William A. and Lilly Brannon.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Mary, Maude, and Gusta; and one brother, Mark.

David was a retired U.S. Army Veteran. While in the Army, he worked on a ship and specialized in collecting data for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.  His work consisted of but was not limited to obtaining samples of ocean water at various depths. He was the last surviving sibling in his family.

His memory will be cherished by several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 5, 2023, at Boggs Cemetery, Ivydale with Reverend Linn Schiefer officiating.

Arrangements by Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway, WV.
