Danny Joe Brown, 60, of Clendenin, entered into rest Friday, May 4, 2018.

Born August 19, 1957, in Gauley Bridge, he was the son of the late George “Herb” Brown and Maude (Rogers) Brown Burdette. In addition to his parents, Danny is preceded in death by his sisters, Rosalynne Brown and Judy Kelly.

Danny served as teacher, principal and assistant superintendent for Clay County Schools.  He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savor and Lord at Lizemores Church of the Nazarene, and continued throughout the years to faithfully serve the Lord in everything he did.

Danny is survived by his wife, Deborah Brown; sister, Linda (Glen) Workman; special nephew, Greg (Christy) Starcher and a very special great-nephew, Nicholas Starcher.

A funeral service was held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 9, at Wilson-Shamblin-Smith Funeral Home, Clay, with Ministers, Charles Larue, Kenneth Tanner and Brad Spencer officiating. Burial followed at Sunset Cemetery, Bickmore. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Friends gathered with family from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8, at the funeral home.
