Ashtabula, OH – Cleo Genevieve Eagle, 84, of Ashtabula, passed away on Friday, July 24,2015, at Saybrook Landing Nursing and Rehabilitation Service.
She was born January 17, 1931 in Enoch, West Virginia, the daughter of the late James Harland and Laura Ellen (Krantz) Gibson, and had been and Ashtabula resident since 1955.
Genevieve was a member of the Ashtabula Pentecostal Church of God.
She worked at Molded Fiberglass Co., was a barmaid at the Flamingo Lounge from 1962 to 1981. She then worked in the laundry department at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home, and the office at AMHA.
After giving her heart to the Lord in 1982, her main priority was to share her faith with others. She enjoyed doing crafts and taking bus trips with her friends.
Genevieve is survived by her sons, William E. (Debra) Eagle of Ashtabula, and Danny Joe Eagle of Ivydale, WV; grandson, William E. (Maartje) Eagle III of Columbus, Ohio; two great-grandchildren, Rowan and Marcus Eagle; and numerous nieces and nephews; best friends, Beverly Burlingham, Bunny Bake and the late Bea Dreslinski.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William E. Eagle, Sr.; three brothers, William, James and John Gibson; five sisters, Tessie Fitzgerald, Delphia Meadows, Ida Hamrick, Sarah Salisbury, and Marie Irving.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at 12 Noon at the Pentecostal Church of God, 2201 Cook Rd., Ashtabula, with Pastor Kenneth Roberts, officiating. Burial followed at Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
