Lizemores– Charles Lee Jones, 84, of Lizemores, entered into rest Thursday, December 8, 2016, at home surrounded by his family.
Born on July 26, 1932, in Clay, he was the son of the late Richard C. and Margaret Bird Jones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Ruth VanMeter Jones; son, James Jones; daughter, Marilyn Stokes; brothers, Robert, Roy, Buster and Don Jones; and sisters, Laureen Elliott and Loretta Jones.
He was a logger and a lifetime farmer.
Survivors include his sons, Jerry, Charlie, Randy, Mike, Robert, Teddy, Steve, and Tracey Jones; daughters, Linda Gritz, Nancy Johnson, Loretta Jeffrey and Rosetta Asal; brothers, Granville and Gus Jones; sister, Ethel Elliott; 30 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Graveside service was held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, December 11, 2016, in the Jones Family Cemetery, Bird Hollow, Adonijah, with Minister Darris Barker officiating.
