Brenda Kay Hayes

Clay — Brenda Kay Hayes, 69, of Clay, entered into rest Sunday, February 26, 2017.

Born December 7, 1947, in Widen, she was the daughter of the late Ransom Jr. and Dora (Laxton) James.

Brenda is survived by her sons, James Travis Hughes of Clay, Edward Earl Hughes of Sutton, and David C. Hughes of Charleston; daughter, Crystal Lynn Shannon of Kernersville, NC; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jerry James and Kenneth James both of Clay; and sister, Patricia McGlothlin, of Clay.

Funeral service was held at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017, at Wilson-Shamblin-Smith Funeral Home, Clay, with minister Wayne Litton officiating. Burial was in Bud Ramsey Cemetery, Harrison.

Friends gathered with family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hubbard Hospice.
