Betty Lucille Mullins Duffield, 90, passed away July 28, 2015 at Clark’s Christian Care Home, East Bank, WV.
She was born May 12, 1925 in Clay to the late Lewis Sherman and Minda Edith Thomas Mullins. Also preceding her in death were her husband of almost 50 years, Oscar Duffield, and brothers Edward and Virgil Hanshaw and Roy and James Mullins.
Betty was a member of Bangor Nazarene Church in Bangor, PA and attended Glasgow Nazarene Church and Spring Fork Baptist Church when she was able. Mom loved to send cards to people and write little notes to them. If you knew her, you probably received a card from her for a birthday, and anniversary, a get well or just to say “thinking of you.” She also loved to crochet and make quilts, especially baby quilts in her later years. The one thing Mom had wanted to do the last several years was to walk again, and now we believe she is walking on the streets of gold with her Lord.
Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Marline Duffield of Hughes Creek; Michael and Sue Duffield of Pen Argyl, PA and David and Sharon Duffield of Mount Bethel, PA; daughters and sons-in-laws, Kaye and Gary Buckner of Malden with whom she resided, and Connie and Ernie Dietz of Roseto, PA; brother Jeary R. Mullins of Pinch; grandchildren, Jennifer Hudson, Holly Dunigan, Stacy, Jonathan, Matthew, Justin and Andres Duffield, Richard Buckner, Kelly Lange and Scott and Jeff Dietz and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held at 1 pm Saturday, August 1 at Fidler and Frame Funeral Home, Belle with Pastor Roy G. Mullins, Jr. officiating. Interment followed in Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff and management at Clark’s Christian Care Home in East Bank.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in memory of Betty to Bangor Nazarene Church Building Fund, 150 Bunny Trail, Bangor, PA 18013 or a charity of your choice.
