Saturday, April 16, 2016, was a day that many people in the county look forward to. Clay County Clean Up, held by the Clay County Solid Waste Authority, with help from Waste Management, other organizations and many other helpers and volunteers.
People in the county gathered up junk, tires, trash, old appliances, furniture, etc. to take to Pierson’s Lumber Yard where the clean-up was held to get rid of all their unwanted items. Volunteers and workers began collecting items at 8:00am and went until 2:00pm. In the heat of the sun and the many, many loads of unwanted items, a lot of junk was disposed of.
Thank you to the Solid Waste Authority and all the others who helped out on Saturday for everyone to bring their unwanted things and make Clay County Shine! Many wish this happened more than once a year, but we are very thankful for this day when it finally comes around each year!
