Flowers and more flowers, a locally owned greenhouse is opening their doors to sale. Mike Sizemore, the owner of Sizemore Greenhouse, has been preparing his greenhouse since January of this year. It takes up to 80 to 100 hours to plan what plants and flowers that he is going to grow for the season. He did put in a new addition to the greenhouse, an irrigation water system to the building for his flower baskets so the baskets can be watered daily. Sizemore has over 70,000 plants this year. He is offering some new verities of plants, flowers, herb, hanging baskets, flats of flowers, garden plants and pro-mix. He sells 15 different varities of tomato plants, cabbage, pepper plants and a special tomato plant that is called an Amish yellow pea, it bears a tiny tomato the size of a green pea.
Sizemore will not be selling fresh rproduce this year; it’s all greenhouse plants and flowers. The greenhouse is a 140×30 size building that faces east to west so that the plants get the full sun and not too much shade. The greenhouse is wall to wall with hanging baskets and flats of garden plants. All of his plants are grown from seeds. Mike and one other person take the time to nurture these beautiful plants.
