Hello, my name is Angela Cantrell and I am asking for your vote in the Primary Election on May 10th for Family Court Judge of the 16th Circuit. I am the daughter of longtime Clay High English and Math teachers, Dan & Christine Walker. I am also the wife of Eric Cantrell, the son of Steve and Cindy Cantrell of Procious. Together we have three young kids, Isaac, Lucy, and Jack, who are our whole world. I am an attorney who formerly practiced exclusively in Family Law at the Law Offices of Lyne Ranson and subsequently was a writ clerk for the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals. Most recently I have been at home as a full time mom. Now I have taken the opportunity to return to Procious to be closer to family and to serve the citizens of Clay County by becoming a candidate for Family Court Judge.
The 16th Circuit Family Court Judge is elected to serve by and for Clay and Nicholas counties. The Judge must be a lawyer licensed to practice for at least five years. They preside over matters including child custody and divorce. Because Nicholas is a more populous county, it is a unique challenge for a candidate from Clay County to be elected and therefore I am looking for everyone’s support. The election is nonpartisan and the winner will be solely determined during the May Primary.
My hope is to go full circle from the little girl at Valley Fork Elementary, to the Valedictorian at Clay High, to the law student in Morgantown, to the Family Law Attorney and Supreme Court Clerk in Charleston, to the mother of three, now returning home in hopes of serving Clay County as its first woman Family Court Judge.
It will take the support of all of Clay County and then some to help this dream come true at the Primary Election on May 10th, so encourage all of your family and friends to come out to the polls including those in Nicholas County and tell them to vote for Angela (Walker) Cantrell for Family Court Judge.
