West Virginia University Extension in Clay County is now accepting applications for the 2016 West Virginia Master Gardener Program. This program consists of a volunteer training course designed to provide experienced home gardeners with the information and skills necessary to share their experience and knowledge with others. Weekly classes will be held each Monday from February 15th until April 18th from 6:00-9:00 pm at Big Otter Elementary off Interstate Exit 40. A minimum of 10 participants must register to hold the program.
In exchange for 30 hours of indoor and outdoor instruction, candidates must agree to donate 40 hours of volunteer service to West Virginia University Extension. There is a program fee of $85 to cover the cost of the training manual and other materials. Applications are being accepted through February 5th.
