Clay County High School has been helping the community with the aid of Christmas food boxes for over 25 years. Run by former Art Teacher, Jerry Stover, for many years, and recently being run by Pam Tanner, Secretary at the High School.
Food is collected from many sources such as the Clay County High School students who bring in canned goods, and local citizens who used their Halloween haunted trail for a food drive, but the biggest contributors were Clay IGA, Clay Development, and the Department of Agriculture who donated the potatoes. Many hours of work goes into getting the food donations and delivery. Norman Ramsey, a bus driver for the Board of Education, supervises the delivery and distribution of the boxes.
Students help with the loading of the boxes, and volunteers like Anatlia Williams, Mike Pierson, J.P. Helms, Bobbi Morris, Kathy Taylor, and Clay Development make sure it gets to the people who need it.
