The Clay County Board had their first meeting in December on the seventh. It followed up with the previous meeting about new staff employment. The following have been employed for substitute cooks for Clay County Schools: Amber Bass, Patty Fugate, Diana Hamrick, Dana Mangus, Melonie Dolin, Kimberly Gould, and Andrea Johnson.
Angela Millican and Jessica Fitzwater have been employed as substitute teachers for the remainder of the 2015-2016 school year. The Board has also approved a list of employees for custodians for Clay County Schools: Melanie Dolin, Ben Dover, Patty Fugate, Dana Mangus, and Linda Kay Miller.
Dylan Vaughan is being transferred as a kindergarten teacher from Clay Elementary to 1st grade teacher at H.E. White Elementary School. Dylan Vaughan’s first day teaching at H.E. White was on Tuesday, December 8th.
The Board heavily discussed using a rental car for transporting Calhoun County students to Clay County Schools. The Board is still on-edge about the purchase of a rental car for these students, but they have yet to come to a decision about the issue.
ODPEA visited Clay County Schools on Tuesday and Wednesday. Superintendent, Kenneth Tanner is hoping to receive good reviews from the state and comments on how to improve in some areas. Results of the visitation will be announced in a later date.
