20150928_182618 20150928_182439Monday, September 28, 2015 a Regular Board Meeting was held at the Administrative Office at 6:00 p.m. The agenda was approved by David Pierson, seconded by Cheryl White. Beth Coulton approved the minutes from the previous meeting and David Pierson seconded.
The board members approved the resignation/retirement of Jackie Boggs, Jr. as Custodian at Clay County Middle School, effective September 30, 2015. Kenneth Tanner praised Jackie Boggs, Jr as the ideal employee and a great person to rely on. Heather White’s resignation as a Kindergarten teacher at Clay Elementary School was approved by David Pierson and seconded by Cheryl White. Jason Nichols’ resignation as Head Wrestling Coach at Clay Middle School is now in effect after Beth Coulton and David Pierson made the approval.
Delbert Ratliff a custodian at Big Otter Elementary School is now being transferred to Custodian at Clay Middle School (Day Shift) to Jackie Boggs’ former position. The board approved of the employment of after school teachers for the 2015-2016 school years.
The employment of Amanda Shelton as a teacher of gifted students for Clay County Schools, pending certification, was approved by Morgan Triplett and seconded by Cheryl White.
In the discussion forum, Connie Kinder and Amanda Shelton presented a PowerPoint presentation on the update of the Community Schools Grant Initiative at H.E. White Elementary School. Following that discussion, Vicki Perdue, appeared in front of the Board to speak about the snacks program at Clay Elementary School. The snacks program has been discontinued at the school due to lack of funding. Vicki Perdue spoke about awareness and possible solutions to correct this issue. The Fitness Center is to open Tuesday, September 29th, 2015; monthly admissions are $10.
