The Panthers have proven themselves once again as a team that you should never give up on. The first games of the year against Fayetteville and Braxton were losses as well as learning efforts and are now under the rug. Therefore, we must move on, and the Panthers definitely moved on this past Friday evening. Ritchie County blew into town Friday night in hopes of making it three losses for the Panthers and notching their first win of the season. One could see at the onset of the game that the Panthers were not about to lay down their arms and surrender. It was a great game and offensive and defensive feeding frenzy for the Panthers as they held class on how to play football. The defense dominated the field holding the Rebels to just six points. Meanwhile, the offense, simply put, pounded its way through the Rebel line and scored a whopping 42 points, defeating the Rebels by the score of 42-6. The Rebels came into the game with a ten man offensive line to simply run the ball down the Panthers throat. It just didn’t happen; it may have looked good on paper but it was pounded down in Bradley Field dirt. The boys did a whale of a job running the ball – Zack Ahart and Brandon White couldn’t hardly be stopped unless there were at least three to bring them down. That being said, the offensive line opened holes in the Rebel defensive line allowing them to get the ball down the field and score. The Panthers will be on the road this Friday night to take on Valley and will be back home after that against the Grizzlies of Nicholas County. Come out and support the Panthers as they once again bring glory to the gridiron.
