Nearing age 22, Michael Helmick is at the prime of his life, and still has a lot more to show and experience the world around him.
He’s a 2012 graduate from Roane County High School and currently lives in Newton, West Virginia. Michael has dreams of travelling to several countries that peak his interest, but most importantly, he has an eye for technology. Michael was born in a time when he experienced a technology invasion as he was growing up. He grew up playing on the Nintendo 64, Atari, and Game Boy. Technology flooded the world around him and shaped him into the person he is today.
Michael Helmick is a “computer geek” at heart; he doesn’t take offense to that, because he truly loves what he does. He has a four-year technology background, two years experience in Software Windows Management, and during this time he obtained his A + Server + Certification. Helmick has a passion for assembling a new computer from the ground up. He also attended Skills USA, which is a vocational program for students to compete in several competitions. Michael’s chosen competition was to build a computer from the ground up and have it running in 15 minutes. Luckily for him, he built it in 7 minutes, with 8 minutes to spare!
Every computer is the same, he states, whether it is from the RAM all the way down to the GPU or Motherboard. With this being said, he never grows tired from building a new computer. In his spare time, he also has an enthusiasm for repairing a computer. It may take hours and take a toll on his patience, but figuring out the puzzle is the greatest outcome. It’s like solving a mystery and Michael is the investigator.
