By Erica Kearns

The saying “Age is just a number and young is an attitude” certainly applies to Frenchie Cloutier. You may have seen him around the county demolishing abandoned structures or hauling loads of sand and gravel, but you probably never guessed he is the sagacious age of 80. Born in Canada, Frenchie and his family located to West Virginia nearly forty years ago and he’s been here ever since. After retiring from a career as an equipment operator, Frenchie decided the sedentary lifestyle wasn’t for him and began his own independent business. Often employed by locals for a variety of jobs, Frenchie has spent the last few years of his life behind the controls of his excavator, thoroughly enjoying his trade.
