On Tuesday October 21st a small group gathered at the courthouse square in observance of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The special gathering was to support, recognize, and remembering those victims. Clay County Sheriff Garrett Samples was awarded and recognized for his deep concern and support for domestic violence victims. County Commissioner Jerry Linkinoggor spoke on the staggering statics of these victims in West Virginia. There were beautiful songs sung by Jason and Michelle Bodkins and snacks were also provided for those who attended. A lot of thought and prayers go out to these victims young and old. Thanks YWCA for all you do. For information on how to seek help call the Clay County Outreach Coordinator at 304-587-7243 or the immediate need for assistance call 1-800-681-8663.
