It would be a tough game on Friday night when the Indians of Sissonville traveled the warpath into town. The Panthers, however, were ready for them and were not intimidated by the Indian warriors. The Panthers won the toss, elected to receive in the second half, and the game was on. The Panthers played one of the toughest defensive games this year. No doubt the Indians thought they were going to just simply run over the Panthers but learned differently as the game progressed. The Indians scored first, knocking more than five minutes off the board in their first drive. Undaunted, the Panthers came back with some air mail of their own. On the first play of their drive the ball was handed to running back Zach Ahart who turned quarterback for a second and air mailed a pass to Gavin Nichols who in turn ran for the touchdown. There would be no catching the speedy Gavin Nichols who left the Indian defense in his dust. The Indians scored again but missed the extra point making the score 6-13. The Panthers took the ball to the house just before the half ended with 0.8 seconds on the board. They were allowed the extra point try, opted for the two point conversion and nailed it. The Panthers were up 14-13 at the half. It was an awesome display of defense by the Panthers who stopped the runs time and time again. The Panthers drew first blood after the half by scoring after a fumble recovery and raised the score to 20-13. When it all looked like it was going to be a great win for the Panthers, the Indians scored again before the regular time ran out. Taking the game into overtime, the Indians managed to get another one on the board and defeated the Panthers in overtime by the score of 20-27. Thanks to Rock 105 for bringing the party to the pre game tail gating.
