1Co 12:10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another diverse kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: God has always been in the miracle working business. When God told Moses to raise his rod and the Red Sea parted it was because God provided a miracle. When fire fell from Heaven and consumed the sacrifice offered by Elijah on Mt. Carmel, God provided a miracle. If you are a Christian, when you asked Jesus to come into your heart and He came and washed away all your sin by His blood, it was a miracle.
We know from Scripture that God does not change. If He needs a miracle to fulfill His purpose, so be it. God is God and He can provide a miracle any time it is necessary.
Jesus opened blinded eyes and instantly cleansed away leprosy. 1 Corinthians tells us that the gift of working of miracles was given by the Holy Spirit unto the Church. Why? It is the will of God. Miracles still happen today because God hasn’t changed. Why do we doubt or question if God is willing or if He is able? He said it didn’t He? We forget that He is GOD! With Him all things are possible. Normally He works in and by the Holy Spirit, in the Church, so that He may receive the glory.
When an alcoholic is delivered of alcoholism, it’s a miracle. When a druggie instantly is free of his addiction, it is a miracle.
We need to remember that the gift of working of miracles is a gift of God by the Holy Spirit to enable to come to pass what would otherwise never happen.
Some say and preach that the day of working of miracles is past and they include the other gifts of the Spirit mentioned in 1 Corinthians 12. I have a question. Where does the Bible say that? I have never read it. I have read though that God never changes and that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. That’s what I choose to believe. That’s God’s business and He never fails.
Maranatha!
