Mae Jane Legg, 74 of Clay, WV entered into rest on June 8, 2026, after a long, hard battle with lung disease and congestive heart failure. She was a beloved member of the community and was the deli manager at Sizemore’s IGA for several years. She will be remembered for her kind heart, beautiful smile and her cooking skills.

She was born in Ovapa, WV to the late Lon Ames Walls and Freda Mae Butcher Walls on July 14, 1951. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by five siblings, Harland, Johnny, Perry, Charlene and Hazel, two husbands Kenny Parsons and Okey Legg, one longtime companion, James Murphy and a beloved grandson, Austin Legg.

She is survived by two daughters, Penny Parsons Schoolcraft (David McKinney) of Clay, WV and Jill Parsons Legg of Porters Creek, WV, two brothers, Roy Walls of Morton, NY and Mike Walls of Clay, WV, two sisters Mary Schoolcraft of Catskills, NY and Shirley Boggs of Dalton. OH, two grandsons, Blake Parsons (Christy) of Clay, WV and Mitchell Schoolcraft (Karlie) of Fairmont, WV and four great-grandchildren, Aaron, Skylar, Lyla and Kazelynn.

A graveside service was held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Sunset Cemetery, Bickmore, WV. All family and friends are welcome.
