Trenton Parker was on the hill.

By Allen Hamrick

The CCMS Mustangs are nearing the wire on their season. They were in conference play this past week against Braxton and Ravenswood. Wins here would have assured the last nail in the coffin for a championship chance on the following Saturday. Braxton was up first, and it looked like the Mustangs were playing second fiddle as the Knights started rounding bases in the first at bat clearing home plate twice before being chilled by the Mustang field. The Mustangs answered the call with three runs in their first at bat before calling it quits.

Trenton Parker took the hill for the Mustangs, and the Knights were figuring out his English and racked up two more runs in the second inning. The Mustangs couldn’t answer in the 2nd but, Whoa mama,” they hit their stride in the 3rd and started racking up points like a dart board. Logan Morton and Trenton Parker were swinging the big wood, Logan had 4 hits, 4 runs and 3 RBIs. Trenton had 4 hits, 3 runs and 4 RBIs. Palmer Adkins had 2 runs on 3 hits and 2 RBIs. When the smoke cleared it was the Mustangs over the Knights 16-5.

Ravenswood was up next on Friday after a weather delay on Thursday. The Mustangs couldn’t get the same momentum going that they had against Braxton and lost the game thus ending their shot at the title for 2026. However, they still have one game left on Tuesday at home with a game time of 6 PM. Come out and support the Mustangs in their final game of the season.

Asher Dorsey throws the out from short.
Hinton Caldwell gets the out from 3rd.
