The Panther track teams ran at the Bison Invitational this past weekend and were among some of the best track teams in the state. The CCHS track team has been giving no quarter in these tournaments and are just getting better each year. The girls placed 3rd as a team, and the boys placed 5th.
Leading out the Lady Panthers was Xena Legg who took 3rd in the shot and Brooke Cliver who placed 5th. Langston McKinney was 4th in the long jump, and Abigail Grandon took 2nd in the pole vault. The 4×102.5 shuttle hurdle relay team took home 2nd place and the 4×800 team also placed 2nd. The 4×400 relay team took 2nd, the 4×200 took 4th, and the 4×100 was also 4th. Ivy Beard took 4th in the 100m hurdles followed closely by Jayda Stricker at 5th. Ashley Roberts took 3rd in the 3200-meter run, and McKinley Mahan took 2nd in the 800-meter run.
For the Panther boys it was Jackson Stricker placing 5th in the pole vault, Daymian Stricker was 4th in the high jump and 2nd in the 300-meter hurdles, Brody Scarbro was 4th in the discus and T.J. Pritt was 2nd in the shot put. The 4×400 team placed 2nd, and Justin Nida was 3rd in the 110-meter hurdles. Kaden Fitzwater took 4th in the 800-meter run. If you want to see some good running and field events, make sure to catch an event before the season ends.
