CCMS Lady Panthers open season with a bang

By Allen Hamrick

The Lady Panthers opened their season against the Devilettes of Ravenswood at home.  The Ladies came into this game planning to get the season started off right with some old-fashioned butt kicking basketball.  However, the opening game of the season turned out to be an itch you just can’t scratch.  A big ball and chain was dragging behind them as they took to the court and tried to dominate, but the Devilettes were using a red-hot pitchfork to skewer the Lady Panthers.  The Lady Panthers had some holes in their defense, and the Devilettes took advantage.   The Lady Panthers were getting plenty of looks at the hoop, but it was like a snowball fight in the underworld; it seemed like a good idea at the time.   The Lady Panthers just couldn’t get the ball in the net and were struggling up and down the court as the first game of the season was creeping them out.    The Devilettes were burning the boards as they racked up the points.  When the game ended, it was the Devilettes thumping the Lady Panthers by the score of 53-21.  It was a tough game for sure.

The next game against the Lady Bison was a stampede as they trampled the Lady Panthers into the maple, beating them 67-24.  The Lady Panthers will have to figure out their issues now before the season gets full swing this week.  If you get the chance, come and support the Lady Panthers as they try and work out the bugs.

The Panthers will open the season up against Poca on December 10th and won’t be at home until January 6, 2026, as they start their season with a six-game road trip spree.  These boys should be ready to get the job done.
