The season ended for the Panther football team on Friday night, and what a season it was.  The 2025 season was full of action down to the last minute of each game.  This was also a bittersweet evening where fans said fair thee well to the seniors of not only the football team but the band as well.  The Panthers finished up 7-3 on the year with some great wins and tough losses.  There wasn’t a game where the Panthers didn’t give full measure in their level of play; they went on the field and gutted it out on every down.

The Panthers hosted Braxton for their last game of the season, and it looked as though the Panthers were having a little trouble getting their heads in the game.  Last season the Panthers plucked the Eagles badly, but not on Friday night. They struggled to get the win and going into the playoffs wasn’t a good sign.  When the rain let up and the quarters were over, the Panthers were out on top by the score of 19-17.  It wasn’t what they were expecting, but it’s what they got, and that was a win. This Friday, the Panthers will face last year’s state runners up – the Roane County Raiders – in the first round of playoffs on Raider turf. Game time will be at 7 PM.  Come out and support the Panthers as they endeavor to defeat the Raiders and move into the second round of championship play.
