The WVU Braxton/Clay Master Gardeners gathered to continue their community project in Duck, WV. On Sept. 25, 2025, master gardeners participated in the Adopt-A-Highway Statewide Fall Cleanup sponsored by the West Virginia Dept. Of Highways, REAP program.  Volunteers participating in these events receive a free gift through the program.

The members were pleasantly surprised and would like to thank the local residents in the area for keeping this section clean.  They collected nine bags of debris and a tire.  This is a beautiful spot located on the Elk River near Nottingham Bridge.  This program is an ongoing effort with additional cleanups of the “spot.” Thanks to this group for their valuable service.

Master Gardener program information is available at your local WV Extension offices if you are interested in becoming a master gardener. The group appreciates your support.
