The Clay County Hall of Fame Golf Tournament 2025 is officially over. This year’s event took place at the Big Bend Golf Course, and it was a beautiful day to get a round of golf in. Some players looked like they should be on the pro circuit while others struggled adding up the strokes per hole. It was a good day, and you can tell that by the low number of tissues handed out.
When the club swinging and slinging was done and all the out of bounds, hooks, slices, and downright good shots were added up, it was the team of David Roach and Steve Paine who shot a score of 61, ten under par, to win the event and claim the coveted Rick Willis trophy. Ed Crist and Glen Moore shot a 64 to place second while Mike and Ethan Smith came in third. As a great Clay County golfer once said, “What I love about the game is that the only person keeping you from doing your best is you.” The winners of this tournament proved that to be true. Congratulations to the team of Roach and Paine for their big win.
