Jack Wilson, “William Addison Wilson”, of Strange Creek, passed away on Sunday July 27, 2025 at UHC Bridgeport surrounded by his family. He was a man of Christian faith.
He was born on December 16, 1943, in Charleston WV to the late Charles Andrew Wilson and Reva T. Samples Wilson.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife Carolene Miller Wilson; his brother, David Wilson; grandson, Addison Parsons; granddaughter, Hannah Parsons.
Jack graduated from Widen High School in 1961. That same year he married Carolene and enlisted in the United States Air Force. After being honorably discharged, he worked in Webster Springs at the pharmacy before beginning a long and dedicated career with Mon Power. He retired after 38 years of service. He was a Master Mason for a total of 48 years. He was a past Master and member of the Gassaway Lodge #133 for 45 years and past Master and member of Strange Creek Lodge #130 for 3 years. In his spare time, he loved hunting, golfing, playing cards and going to his grandchildren’s events. He was a devoted family man and a loving Dad and Pawpaw, whose presence will be deeply missed. He was well known for his sharp sense of humor, his warm heart, and his love of conversation. If you were out with Jack, chances were high he would run into someone he knew-often two or three people-no matter where he went.
Left to cherish his memories are his five daughters, Penny his dog being the favorite, Melinda Wilson of Fayetteville, Betsy Wilson Parsons (Bryan) of Fayetteville, Jacoba Wison Michael (Paul) of Sutton, Emilee Wilson (Johnnie Strup) of Sutton, his brother Rocky Wilson (Billie) of Bervard, NC; his sister-in-law Sandra Wilson of Camden SC; grandchildren Jedidiah Butler (Joanne), Jessica Parsons, David Parsons, Helen Strup, Delilah Michael and Sterling Michael; great grandsons Owen Jones and Thomas Addison Butler; and his estranged wife Cynthia Wilson of Herold Route.
Funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 3, 2025, at Stockert Funeral Home, Flatwoods, WV, with Pastor Johnny Conrad officiating. Visitation was from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Burial with Masonic Rites/Military Honors followed at the Walnut Grove Methodist Church Cemetery, Strange Creek WV.
