Autumn Rapp hits 3 of her 20 points.

By Allen Hamrick

To catch up on the Lady Mustangs’ season, they met their Waterloo once again as they battled the Lady Knights of Braxton for the second time this season.  In their first meeting this season, the Lady Knights took it to the Lady Mustangs and defeated them on Lady Mustang turf.  Call it voodoo, call it what you will, but every time these two teams meet, it promises to be a barn burner.  This being their second meeting of regular season it promised to be a tough one.  The Lady Mustangs were playing catch-up most of the game, and at the end of the 2nd period, the lead was within five as the Lady Knights held a 14-19 lead.

In the second half, the Lady Mustangs fought hard, but the wicked witch put a hex on the net and points were as hard to get as a thousand dollar bill in the 3rd period. The Lady Knights took a 10 point lead going into the fourth. The Lady Mustangs turned up the heat in the 4th putting 13 more points on the board, but it was too late as the Lady Knights once again beat the Lady Mustangs 38-31.   The Lady Mustangs kept it close with some great shooting from Autumn Rapp who dropped twenty points in the game and led the Mustangs in scoring.   These two teams will meet again on Monday night in the start of the CWVAC tournament. Whoever wins here will continue in the tournament while a loss means the season is over.  So, if you get the opportunity to catch the game Monday night, you will see if the Lady Mustangs can pull off the win.
