Betty Louise “Granny” Boswell, 81, of Spencer, W.Va., died Friday, January 17, 2025, at Roane General Hospital, Spencer.

She was born January 24, 1943, at Uniontown, Penn., the daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Bessie Mae Nixon Little.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Boswell; son, Huey Boswell; brothers and sisters.

Survivors include sons, Eddie (Lisa) Boswell, Jr. of Connellsville, Penn., Tommy Boswell of Reedy, W.Va., Joshua (Missy) Boswell of Spencer, Davey Boswell of Spencer, Harry (Tracy) Boswell of Ripley, W.Va., and Frank Boswell also of Spencer; daughters, Maggie O’Dell of Spencer and Lisa (Ricky) Dillow of Bluefield, W.Va.; a friend, who was like a daughter, Gail Triplett of Clay, W.Va.; brother, George Little of Mansfield, Ohio; 32 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.

Her pastimes included spending time with her family, visiting with friends and playing bingo.

“Not only was she the best Mom, but she was also the best Granny.”

A funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 22nd, at John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Dave Young officiating. Burial was at the Starcher Cemetery, Big Otter, W.Va.

The family received friends one hour before the service.
