Today’s classrooms provide much more than academic instruction for students. Teachers incorporate life skills into lessons every day that help students find new ways of thinking and learn to become independent. Each day of school missed is a day of learning, lost forever.

Clay County School District has excellent student attendance for the first two school months. The average daily attendance was well over 94%. Allison Vaughn’s students at Clay Elementary led the county with an attendance rate of 97.85%. Second best was Amanda Douglas’ first grade students at Big Otter Elementary, with a rate of 97.57%.

The student with the best attendance at Clay County High School were Shawn Krajeski’s students. They finished with an average of 97.49%, followed closely by Catherine Vaillancourt’s students at Clay Middle School. Her students maintained an average of 97.47% for the first two months.
