The Lady Panthers were at home this past week against the Roane County Lady Raiders. This game, like several others, is a great rival game and is always full of action. The Lady Panthers are led by their new coach Danielle Champ. These Lady Panthers are a young team made up of mostly freshman and sophomore players. None the less, they are a good team with a lot of potential. If volleyball kill shots were a crime, Rylee Burkhamer would be up state for a thousand years. That girl has a gun arm like a cannon. They took the tough Lady Raiders to the 4th game before sending them packing. The Lady Panthers are tough to beat when all cylinders are working, and they have an arsenal of players who can get the job done. The Lady Panthers will be back in action on the road against South Harrison and then back home against Gilmer on Thursday. The Lady Mustangs played three games this week against Calhoun, Valley, and South Harrison. They played very well but just couldn’t get in the groove against Calhoun and lost the set 1-2. Valley was up next, and the Lady Mustangs bounced back and beat them handily in two games. South Harrison proved to be a little tougher, and the Lady Mustangs did take one of the games but lost the set 1-2. They will be home Monday night to take on Ravenswood.
