Collin Elliot looks for a gap.

By Allen Hamrick

It was an early Halloween for Sherman Middle School as the Mustangs opened up the field and ran them through the meat grinder.  The CCMS Mustangs continued their dominating ground and pound style of football Thursday night while taking no prisoners.  The Mustangs ground game, combined with superb blocking from the front line, took the game to the next level.  Sherman just couldn’t overcome the push of the Mustangs.   The defense had a great game as well; they gave no quarter and asked for none in return.

The Mustangs are an all around football team who lost a lot of players to Clay High, but they are no pushovers as Sherman found out.  The Mustangs came out and dominated on offense, defense, running, passing, blocking, coaching, cheering and fans.  Collin Elliot was a definite standout on offense; and defense.  Caleb Robinson also had a good game on offense and defense, scoring at will it seemed.  John Paxton, who is at the helm for the Mustangs, did a good job coordinating the plays and getting the Mustangs down the field.  The defensive line all but destroyed the offensive line of Sherman who had no chance.   It was a well executed game from the coaching staff, and the boys carried out the plan to a tee with a final score of 46-0.  This week they play Summersville Middle School, and it is rumored be their toughest game of the season so far.  Come out and support the Mustangs.
