We are so excited about the opportunity to serve you and your child during the 2014-2015 school year. We know it is important for young children to have the opportunity to attend school in their own neighborhood. Currently, we have four elementary schools: Big Otter Elementary, Clay Elementary, H. E. White Elementary, and Lizemore Elementary. So regardless of where you live, your child can attend school “right in his/her own backyard.”
What documentation do I need to bring to registration? We request that you bring the following documents to registration: your child’s birth certificate, up-dated immunization record, well child check-up, and your child’s most recent dental check-up. We will need a certified copy of your child’s birth certificate. A certified birth certificate is one that is obtained from the state registrar or vital statistics office in the state where the child was born. Also, at this event your child will participate in screenings, such as, school readiness, speech/language, hearing, and vision. These screenings ensure that every child receives the best possible chance to be healthy and ready to learn. If your child is Head Start eligible, please bring proof of income to registration.
Countywide registration for 2014-2015 kindergarten and pre-k students will be held at Clay Elementary School on May 9, 2014 from 8:30 am – 2:00 pm
If you have questions or concerns, please call Linda Nichols (304-286-3115), Teresa Drake (304-587-1169), or one of the elementary schools and ask to speak to the principal. Please Note: If your child is currently enrolled in school, he/she does not need to attend registration.
