Track is up and running, and the CCHS team has the best running, jumping, and shot putting athletes the school can muster. They travelled to Roane this past Friday evening and competed against some of the best in the state. Considering that CCHS doesn’t have a full practice facility on hand, the team does really well. Isabelle Haverty placed 2nd in the 1600 and 4th in the 800. Ashley McCracken placed 6th in the 400 meter dash, Trevor Armes placed 4th in the 400 meter dash and Jordan Lucas placed 6th in the 110meter high hurdles. With a little more experience, the Panthers will up these numbers and be able to compete in the state track meet held in Charleston. The boys and girls will once again be at Roane County on April 1st, and starting time is 4:30 pm. You won’t want to miss the action.
