Fall sports are coming to a close, and time will be ushering in the winter sports of basketball and wrestling for the 2023-2024 season. CCMS has begun basketball tryouts and will be mustering up a wrestling team. Their football season closed finishing 5th and the Volleyball team finished 6th place in the conference. All their teams played well and gave the fans their monies worth each match. Brookie Morton and Autumn Rapp were All Conference and Lillie Nichols was All Tournament.
With that being said, it’s time for some hard court basketball and bone crushing wrestling. It looks like both the Mustangs and the Lady Mustangs will have some good teams that could possibly bring home the gold. The CCHS Panther football team just came off a big win against Summers County 48-42 and have one more regular season game left to play against Braxton this Friday. The Lady Panthers are gearing up for their final Volleyball game of the season at home on Tuesday evening.
Once these games are over it will be time for Volleyball Sectionals and the football playoffs, check with the coaches for the times and places or next week’s paper, we will know more then. When basketball and Wrestling begins at CCHS they have some veterans returning to the dance as well as some new blood coming from CCMS from last season. The Panthers and Lady Panther basketball teams will be stacked with talent and should be pretty good contenders for titles.
All basketball and wrestling teams are on the front line playing as hard as they can for wins; let’s get out and support them this season.
