Late last month Mr. Trey Corwell’s Digital Imaging II class and Mr. Jamie Tanner’s Advanced Art III and IV students came together to review the art gallery from their joint project, “Art Inspired by Music.”
Both classes were listened to The Beatles hit song, “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” And were asked to create artwork based on how they interpreted the lyrics. Mr. Corwell’s class used Adobe Photoshop to create digital art and Mr. Tanner’s class created physical art of their choice.
“Music is a way to reach everyone,” Mr. Corwell said about the project. “This is my favorite project that we do each year. With this cross-curriculum project, students get to express themselves and see how each person can interpret the same prompt differently.”
“This was a fun and exciting lesson for students!” added Tanner.
Jonathan Gandee, Clay County High School freshman, said, “ Mr. Corwell’s class is my favorite class, and I have learned so much this year in Digital Imaging.” Jonathan is part of the Panther Tech group and has a deep passion for all things computer related. He strives to use the skills he is gaining in these classes to pursue his passion in the digital creating world.
