It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Clay County. The group A Clay County Christmas has been working to put together a celebration on Saturday, Dec. 17. This event will include a parade of lights, vendors, activities for the children, and decorating contests in town for residents and businesses. The festivities kick off at 5 p.m. and finish up with the Grande parade of lights.
The Grande parade of lights will start at 8 p.m. and will benefit Katie Price, a Clay County High School freshman who is bravely battling cancer. All donations will be given to the family for her medical treatment, travel, etc. Katie travels to Morgantown several times a month for treatment.
Businesses and residents are encouraged to enter this years’ decorating contest. Business winners will be awarded a trophy to display in their business, along with bragging rights.
To enter the parade, decorating contests, or to set up as a vendor, contact Brittany Clifton via Facebook or search for “A Clay County Christmas” in the events tab for more information.
